Tidal just introduced their new program, TIDAL Unplugged to the world. Tidal Unplugged will allow up and coming artist to purse their passion for music. The program includes recording, marketing, promotion and any other business needs. It is funded by a pair of philanthropists -- Robert Nelson of ARCH Venture Partners and Mark Lampert, founder of BVF Partners and an Ann Arbor native.
For the first run around they have chosen five musicians from Detroit. Recipients are Emma Guzman, Laurie Love, Olivia Millerschin and Raye Williams and rapper Sam Austins.
"Detroit has been home to so many iconic musicians, and the TIDAL Unplugged search gave us a glimpse into the multitude of bright, new talent in the region today. While we received many compelling entries, our winners, whose sounds range from R&B to folk to rap, rose to the top," said Jason Kpana, TIDAL SVP of Artist Relations. "We're honored to be able to provide these talented artists with the tools and mentorship needed to develop their craft creatively and professionally."
Stay tuned to see if TIDAL hosts an Unplugged application in your city!!
