Issa Rae Will Produce New HBO Max Show "Rap Sh*t"

The creator of HBO series “Insecure”, Issa Rae will debut her new show Rap Sh*t on HBO Max streaming service. She is currently finishing season four of her hit series “Insecure” while also working of a number of other projects. According to Pitch Fork, Rap Shi*t will be a half- hour comedy series that follows a female rap group from South Florida as they seek success in the music industry. Rap Sh*t is set to debut May 2020 on HBO Max streaming service.

Though Rae is the writing pilot, according to Deadline, the series will be executive produced by Issa Rae and Montrel McKay for Issa Rae Productions, as well as Jonathan Berry and Dave Becky for 3 Arts Entertainment.

Besides the debut of Rae’s new show, Atlantic Records recently announced a deal with her Raedio label. The partnership kicked off with the release of TeaMarr’s new single “Kinda Love”. Raedio will be the music service for television, film, podcast and commercials.
