Sue Me, I'm Rootin' For Everybody That's Black

Can we talk about ‘Sue Me’ by Wale ft Kelly Price? On his latest album “Wow.. Thats Crazy”, Wale gives us the official Black Excellence anthem 'Sue Me'. In the song he mentions individuals like Issa Rae and Taraji P. Henson who have showed us that black excellence is real. Wale also addresses supporting black businesses instead of these regular companies like Barneys, Balenciaga and Prada.

Yesterday at the 2019 Soul Train Awards, Wale performed ‘Sue Me’ along with Kelly Price. Price tore up the stage as she left everyone in chills. While the two were singing, there were photos of black individuals who have made their imprint within the industry. Oprah Winfrey, Colin Kaepernick, Denzel Washington, Issa Rae, Octavia Spencer, Marsai Martin , Tracee Ellis Ross, and Nipsey Hussle just to name a few. As the song went on, you could feel the power in the room as first were raised in solidarity.

The other day someone said, “Black people have to prove themselves 3x more than any other race to show that they are qualified.” I then opened my eyes and realized that this statement is true. We have to work harder in order to receive the same outcomes as other races. When Tyler Perry opened his studio in early October, that proved to everyone that we can do it too. As Tyler Perry Said, “I want you to hear this, which meant that there was Confederate soldiers on that base, plotting and planning on how to keep 3.9 million negroes enslaved. Now that land is owned by one negro.” So from today on, let's support each other and grow together!
