2020 Vision ... Vision Board That Is!

Visualization is a practice that dates back millenniums. Being used to tell stories of past events and predicting future ones such as the success that people wish to bring into their lives.

This practice is used amongst some of the most successful people who make it a point to practice a course of action mentally before they physically engage in the action.

An article by Psychology Today states that “It’s been found that mental practices can enhance motivation, increase confidence and self-efficacy, improve motor performance, prime your brain for success, and increase states of flow—all relevant to achieving your best life!”

Before any of us can take any action to making this year great. We have to define what ‘great’ looks like. A popular way is to write out your goals and aspirations for the year.

Our way is to create a vision board so that we can see them!

How To

If your only reason for not making a vision board is because you think it’s too much work. Think again because it’s simple. You will need:

  1. Construction paper or poster board (or any blank space. This can be a bare wall in your home or any other flat service you can get creative with.)

  2. Pictures (Lots of them! We find the easiest way to go is with a bunch of magazines, but you can also feel free to print out pictures)

  3. Glue or thumbtacks (anything to attach the images to board or surface)

  4. Clarity and Your Imagination

Before you start this process make sure that you have taken some time to clarify what it is that you want to accomplish this year (or for any time period you are creating your vision board). Seemingly easy, this part can pose a challenge because there can be so many factors to take into account, so now is the time to get focused.

Ask yourself what do you want your year to be like? What are you aiming for? What does that look like? Who does it look like?

Remember you are not the only one on this journey. People who share your drive to visualize their future are not too far away. You just have to know where to look.

Vision Board Events:

Muhammed Ali once said “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. The hands can’t hit what the eyes can’t see.”

So, activate your 2020 vision. Begin to visualize your year and make it a great one!
