My 600-Lb. Life Receives Backlash After An Accusation That The Show Continued Filming Despite Mandat

Shortly after the television network TLC announced that they were halting production on all of their shows due to the COVID-19 pandemic, accusations arose that production for two shows was continued. TLC’s cast and crew for “My 600-Lb. Life” as well as the cast and crew of its spin-off show titled “Where Are They Now?” are accused of filming over the weekend in two different states.

It has been reported that both shows continued to film on location in Louisiana and Mississippi but it was not clear which show was filming in what state.

A statement made by the shows’ production company, Megalomedia, denied that “My 600-Lb. Life”, “Where Are They Now?” and any other show that they produce was participating in an in-person production.

Since the start of the pandemic it has been circulating knowledge that people with respiratory issues, older individuals and people with prior existing health conditions are at high risk for contracting COVID-19.

The Hollywood Reporter claims to have documentation to support the accusation that the shows were filming but has not released them.

Twitter users that responded had negative responses to the news that broke earlier today:
