Lady Gaga has announced a global relief special that she curated with Global Citizen and the World Health Organization that will be aired on April 18. The special is described as ‘a series of virtual, no-contact concerts’.
The proceeds raised by this televised concert will be used as funding for health care professionals, providing equipment and more.
Gaga who helped curate the special is unfortunately not listed as one of the performers. But the lineup is impressive and includes some of music’s biggest names, legends and other big celebrities.
Concert Line Up: Alanis Morissette, Andrea Bocelli, Billie Eilish, Billie Joe Armstrong, Burna Boy, Chris Martin, David Beckham, Eddie Vedder, Elton John, FINNEAS, Idris and Sabrina Elba, J Balvin, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban, Kerry Washington, Lang Lang, Lizzo, Maluma, Paul McCartney, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Shah Rukh Khan and Stevie Wonder.
The televised special is also said to be child friendly as characters from “Sesame Street” will be appearing alongside the hosts of the event - late night television hosts: Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert.
In efforts to make the broadcast available to as many people as possible NBC, ABC, CBS, MTV, BBC Music, iHeartRadio, Twitter, Tidal, TuneIn, Twitch, Yahoo, Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, Apple, Amazon Prime Video, LiveXLive, Tencent and Tencent Music Entertainment Group will all be broadcasting the televised special.
It is not clear exactly how long the event is expected to last but expectations are high.
