Diddy Responds to Blacklash Over Lizzo and Draya Twerking on Instagram Live

Yesterday, Diddy hosted an Instagram Live Dance party. The dance party was to raise money for  the healthcare workers working on the frontline during this COVID-19 pandemic.

A number of celebrities made special appearances and were required to dance for the cause. Some names include, A Rod, J.Lo, Snoop Dogg, Jessica Alba, Lizzo, Lebron James, Ciara, Russell Wilson, Draya and so many more showed their support.

At one point Lizzo was invited to the live and was ready to get it on and popping. The live was going well until Lizzo started twerking. Diddy came into the camera and stopped her immediately. He made it clear that this was a Easter Sunday, family friend virtual party. He also mentioned that his daughters wanted to say “Hello”, which explained why he stopped her immediately.

As the night went on, Draya joined Diddy on Instagram Live. When she was asked what song she would like, she responded “Back That A** Up”. She even asked Diddy if it was okay and he said “yes”. I did take into consideration that it was later at night and Diddy did say it was ‘happy hour’.

Well some people were upset about the fact that Diddy allowed Draya to twerk and not Lizzo. It brought up so many different opinions that Diddy had to respond.

He told Instagram in a video, "There's one thing that I wanna make clear,"  "My queen, my sister, Lizzo, when I stopped the music, it's because it had a lot of curses in there. Not because she was twerking. She's one of the best twerkers in the world, okay? So let's keep that clear. It wasn't about twerking. You're allowed to twerk on Easter. There was a lot of cursing on the record and I don't need child services knocking on my door right now, you understand?"
