Johnson & Johnson Will Stop Selling Talc-based Baby Powder In U.S. and Canada

After all of the lawsuits, Johnson & Johnson will stop selling its famous baby powder in the U.S. and Canada. The health care giant has decided to stop selling their talc-based baby powder due to the number of lawsuits received in regards to causing cancer.

Though many have said the product causes cancer, Johnson & Johnson claim that their products are safe. According to CBS News, in early October, the company recalled 33,000 bottles of the baby powder after FDA regulators found a small amount of asbestos in a bottle purchased online. But later that month, Johnson & Johnson said that 15 tests of the same bottle of baby powder conducted by two laboratories hired by the company found no asbestos.

J&J spokeswoman Kimberly Montagnino said the company doesn’t plan to settle any of the lawsuits and “will continue to vigorously defend” the product.
