Officials from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office announced “That 70s Show” actor, Daniel “Danny” Masterson, has been charged with raping three women in his Hollywood Hills home between 2001 and 2003.
Masterson, 44, if convicted can serve 45 years to life in state prison.
Masterson was arrested Wednesday, however, he was released shortly after posting his $3.3 million bond. Masterson’s arraignment is scheduled for September 18.
CBS8 is reporting that Masterson’s attorney, Tom Mesereau, stated "Obviously, Mr. Masterson and his wife are in complete shock considering that these nearly 20-year-old allegations are suddenly resulting in charges being filed, but they and their family are comforted knowing that ultimately the truth will come out," as they are confident that Masterson will be exonerated of all charges.
Masterson is no stranger to sexual assault allegations. In their press release, the District Attorney’s Office declined to file sexual assault charges against Masterson on two different occasions. One assault charge was denied for insufficient evidence and the other because of the statute of limitations.
