With the surge in COVID-19 cases, Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez has announced that he will be signing an emergency order. The order includes closing restaurant dining, ballrooms, banquet facilities, party venues, gyms and fitness centers, and short-term vacation rentals.
Though indoor dining is prohibited, takeout and delivery are still available. Summer camps and daycares located in Miami-Dade will still be open but with capacity limits and other regulations. Beaches are also set to open Tuesday and the Mayor warned civilians that if they do not follow public health rules he will be forced to shut beaches down.
Miami-Dade County is still under a 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. curfew which does not include essential workers. The Mayors emergency order will take effect on Wednesday.
