Earlier this year we heard about the settlement regarding the slowing down of older iPhones. Apple admitted that they prevented chips in older iPhone from reaching their full processing power. The company has officially agreed to make payments totaling up to $500 million overall according to Mashable. Claims include about $25 per phone as part of the company’s settlement.
Owners of an iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, or an iPhone SE that ran iOS 10.2.1 or later before December 21, 2017
Owners of an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus that ran iOS 11.2 or later before December 21, 2017
Each claim must be submitted by October 2020 in order to be eligible for a payout.
"Payments will be made if the court approves the settlement and after any appeals are resolved," according to a notice on the claims website.
