The prayers of movie lovers in select cities across the U.S. and Canada have been answered.
As many states either re-close their theaters or delay their opening, movie goers and COVID-19 skeptics are frustrated. The film industry has also suffered creatively and fiscally as production across the country came to a screeching halt and has not resumed in many states.
Many production companies have looked for alternate ways of releasing their already made content, which has included online movie releases and rentals, as well as new partnerships with streaming services and drive in theaters.
The newest adaption being tested to quench the thirst of deprived movie goers is the introduction of floating boat cinemas.
The event was created by Beyond Cinema and works by having a group of eight purchase an entire boat to ensure that only friends and family will be together to maintain social distancing standards. The entire cinema will consist of 12 to 24 mini boats. The cinema will be showing a mix of “golden oldies and new releases”
Some of the cities included in this floating cinema tour are New York City, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Columbus, Cleveland, Austin, Houston, Chicago, Miami, Pittsburgh, Toronto and Vancouver.
