Southern California Gets Hit By a 4.2 Magnitude Earthquake and Twitter Reacts

At approximately 4:30 a.m. a 4.2 magnitude earthquake hit Southern California’s San Fernando Valley, approximately 23 miles north of Los Angeles where the earthquake is believed to have been felt the most.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department stated that there aren't any reports of damages or injuries. The L.A County Fire Department also reported that the earthquake initiated approximately 4.9 to 5.5 miles below the earth's surface.

After shocks that were reported measured at a 3.3 and 3.9 magnitude approximately two hours after the main shock.

Although this earthquake did not leave any physical damage behind, it did ignite fear and concern in those who were in its vicinity. Many of whom took to Twitter to express their feelings:

In spite of the mixed feelings California residents and commentators expressed via social media, many did point out that they believe that an earthquake of a higher magnitude is coming.

Raising the question: how will the state of California adequately prepare for the aftermath of a high magnitude earthquake (if one were to happen) and deal with the rising cases and hospitalizations caused by COVID-19?
