Trump Is Trying To Ban TikTok In The US

Within the last few months, Tik Tok has been the talk of the world. TikTok is a very popular app which rose to stardom during the pandemic. People across the world have used the platform to connect with others and create some musical masterpieces.

Recently, President Donald Trump has spoken about terminating TikTok in the United States. Since the app is owned by the Chinese, he isn’t too happy about it being such a huge phenomenon in America. Trump told reporters onboard Air Force One on Friday that he would issue an order for TikTok to be banned in the US by Sunday or Monday.

China’s ByteDance was previously seeking to keep a minority stake in the U.S. business of TikTok, which the White House had rejected. In which a new proposed deal was created where ByteDance would exit completely and Microsoft Corporation would take over TikTok in the United States, according to sources.

The administration has very serious national security concerns over TikTok. We continue to evaluate future policy,” the White House said in a statement.
