At some point in most Professional Basketball players careers they start to take their talents from the court to our screens and speakers. Legends like Rick Fox and John Salley are an example of how to go from sports to screen and Master P left the lane open for players to touch the music scene. For the past few years there have been little buzzings surrounding Kevin Durant stepping foot into the music industry. Those buzzings didn’t seem to lead to anything serious; or so we thought. A few days ago, T-Shyne, a New York bred rapper under 300 Entertainment, took to Twitter to announce that his upcoming album will be Executive Produced by Brooklyn Nets Player Kevin Durant and Rapper, Young Thug.
T-Shyne released his first album, The Immaculate, about 2 years ago which held some high ranking features such as Juicy J, Slim Jxmmi, and of course his labelmate, Young Thug. Thugga has shown the public that he cares strongly about the young men on his team coming up in this rap game. So it’s only right that the sense of community is tight when it comes to YSL. While the inclusion of Durant may sound a little random to some, we know that Thug would never steer either of them wrong.
Durant has come a long way from being featured on Lebron James’ song 2 years ago to him now Executive Producing an album with one of the hottest Rappers for a very promising artist. Since Durant has previously listed Thugga in his Top 5 Rapper list this collaboration had to be a dream come true for him. Most people have good taste in music but to be an EP of an album is more work than many may think it to be. It’ll be interesting to see the way these three visions come together for the finished product.
T-Shyne hasn’t given any word on an official release date quite yet but hopefully this announcement means that it’s coming soon!
