Not so fast …. Trump isn’t playing any games about the November elections. The president told Fox News that “we’re going to have everything”, when asked about the possibility of monitoring voter fraud. Trump has been very vocal about his frustration with mail-in voting, insisting that the process is flawed and that people will take advantage of it. Specifically the Democrats. Trump is so against mail-in voting that he proposed the entire election be postponed until the pandemic is under control. The president says that he’s backing out the sheriffs, law enforcement, attorneys and attorney generals to make sure there’s no funny business going on with the polling locations. In Typical DJT fashion he assures his loyal followers that: "the only way we're going to lose this election is if the election is rigged."
Enforcing heavy security measures at polling sites isn’t the only thing the Trump campaign has been doing to combat voter fraud. They recently filed lawsuits against states like Pennsylvania that plan on implementing mail-in voting for November. The interesting thing to come out of the Pennsylvania lawsuits, is that they were asked to provide proof that mail in voting has a direct correlation with voter fraud. The Trump campaign has been unable to provide the proof in question, despite the presidents non stop attempts to create that narrative. It appears as though Trump isn’t as confident this time around as he was 4 years ago. This could be due to the competition Joe Biden poses, as Biden has the lead over Trump in support from likely state voters. According to The Morning Call, 49% of likely state voters support Biden, and 45% support Trump.
The presidential election is picking up steam, and it’s going to be interesting to see how things shape up as we inch closer to debate season.
