Fans of Will Smith and his 90s sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, are itching for a reboot that is expected to come to life in the future. However, fans may just have to settle for a reunion special.
The unscripted reunion special is expected to launch on HBO Max around Thanksgiving in celebration of the show’s 30th anniversary, Deadline reports.
The special, produced by Westbrook Media, will contain your favorite characters played by Smith, Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Alfonso Riberio, Daphne Maxwell Reid, Joseph Marcell and DJ Jazzy Jeff. Or how you may know them Ashley Hillary, Carlton and Vivian Banks, Geoffrey and Jazz.
The former cast members are expected to take a look back on the series during the reunion.
Fans took to social media to express their bittersweet emotions. Many noting that while they're excited about the reunion they are saddened that James Avery, who played the notorious Uncle Philip Banks, will not be joining the team. Avery passed away Dec. 31, 2013 at 68 years-old.
Many are curious to see how the former cast mates will pay tribute to their fallen member after coming together for the last show of ‘Will From Home’ earlier this year and doing just that.
