Gucci Mane finds himself tied up in a wrongful death lawsuit. The New York Daily News reports that Gucci was named alongside rapper Foociano in a suit involving the death of a 23-year old woman. The victim, Mykala Bell, was fatally shot on July 5th at club Lavish Lounge in South Carolina. Bell was caught in the crossfire as shots began ringing through the club. The lawsuit which was filed by one of Bell’s representatives states that rapper Foociano was a performer at the event, and he and his entourage were allowed into the venue with deadly weapons.
The suit details: “Neither Foogiano nor his entourage were patted down or searched for weapons,” it continues “As a result, dangerous persons were permitted inside the club with deadly weapons.” As far as Gucci Mane's involvement, he is listed in the lawsuit as a promoter of the event, although it is unclear of whether or not Gucci actually attended the event. Both rappers are being accused of negligence in this lawsuit. Makayla Bell is one of two people who were fatally shot that night, the other being a 51 year old security guard named Clarence Sterling Johnson.
The Greenville County Sheriff believes that the incident was likely gang related. Jarquez Kezavion Cooper, one of the defendants in the lawsuit, is described in the documents as a colleague of rapper Foociano. Kezavion-Cooper was charged with two counts of murder in association with the fatal shooting. Neither Foocianao or Gucci Mane have said anything about the incident publicly as of yet. This news comes just a few weeks removed from Gucci and his wife Keyshia Ka'oir announcing that they are expecting a child.
