A Girl’s Gotta Do, What A Girl’s Gotta Do: Pelosi’s Controversial Hair Salon Visit

They say “a girl’s gotta do, what a girl’s gotta do” and that’s exactly what the speaker of the U.S House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi did. Pelosi has been getting dragged left and right (mostly by angry republicans), after surveillance footage shows her in a hair salon, with no face covering, in the middle of the pandemic. Per California COVID-19 restrictions, hair salons are not to service clients indoors. Instead, all services need to be held outdoors, in open spaces. It all went down at eSalon in San Francisco California. The owner of the salon who we now know as Erica Kious, leaked the surveillance footage of what she described to Fox News as “disturbing”. Kious told Fox, “It was a slap in the face that she went in. That she feels that she can just go and get her stuff done while no one else can go in, and I can't work. It was just disturbing.” Pelosi has since come out saying that she was set up by the beauty salon owner. Pelosi made a statement, saying that the message relayed to her from the salon owner was that they had authorization from the city for stylists to accommodate clients in the salon, “one person at a time”. Pelosi is calling for an apology from the salon owner, and takes responsibility for being “set up." Whether or not Pelosi was set up by Erica Kious’s shop, still does not dispute the fact that it was a violation of the health orders established in California. So there's no easy way out for the house speaker, as far as this is concerned.

Pelosi is playing it cool and standing by her accusations that she was set up by the salon. Interestingly, Pelosi is claiming that people within the hair service industry are applauding her for shedding light on the fact that they want to get back to work. Pelosi stated, "Many of them are annoyed at the setup that was there for a purpose that has nothing to do with ending the crisis. There's more to this that I'm not going into. It was clearly a setup”. This statement comes after outraged hairstylists protested outside of Pelosi’s home, demanding to get back to work. The stylist who sanctioned the visit for Pelosi is in her corner stating that Kious had already been running her business inside of the salon illegally throughout the covid-19 shutdown.

President Donald Trump, who is very candid about disliking Nancy Pelosi, has been living for every moment of this drama. He tweeted: “crazy Nancy Pelosi said she was “set up” by the beauty parlor owner when she improperly had the salon opened (and didn’t wear a MASK!). Does anyone want a Speaker of the House who can be so easily SET UP?” In another tweet, Trump suggested that Kious would make a better fit for the house than Pelosi. Other white house personnel are joining in on the fun as well. White house press secretary Kayleigh McEnnay started a media briefing this past Thursday by playing the footage of Pelosi and demanding she apologizes to the American people.

Apparently the blow back from Kious leaking the footage of Pelosi, has taken a major toll on her business and family life. A Go Fund Me has been started claiming that she has now been forced to shut down and relocate her business. The fund has a goal of raising $300,000 to help Kious with the process. Whether it was a set up or not, Pelosi has been seen everyday since the incident with her hair looking as fabulous as ever. Can’t a lady just break covid-19 regulations in peace? Beauty waits for nobody.
