This past Friday, Diddy announced "Our Black Party,” what he describes as "a political agenda that addresses the needs of Black people" ahead of the 2020 presidential election. He is yet another legendary Hip-Hop figure who’s made political headlines in the last week, following Ice Cube's controversial endorsement of president Trump’s platinum plan.
Like many, Diddy’s top priority is to get Trump out of office. He explained on Twitter why the current President of the United States “has to go”. Diddy tweeted, “We can't allow this man to continue to try and DIVIDE US. The people that have the most responsibility and should be SCARED TO DEATH of this man are white people. WE ARE ON THE VERGE OF A RACE WAR."
And if you had any doubts about whether or not Diddy is serious, there is an official ourblackparty.org website. There you can’t find all the additional information regarding the political party.
One person in particular who has always been critical of Diddy, is Aubrey O’day. O’day is one of the members of Diddy’s girl group Danity Kane, who had their group disbanded on national television. Ever since then, O’day has had a chip on her shoulder and does not hold back her opinions on the music mogul. Aubrey tweeted Friday: “Diddy has mismanaged artists & stolen their money his whole career (including Danity Kane), and now he is showing up with 18 days left before the election to get Trump out of office 👀. When I was on [The Apprentice], Trump used to tell me DAILY how him and puff are good friends!”
It will be interesting to how Diddy’s "Our Black Party,” turns out. Diddy has been telling fans to "vote or die" for years, however this is a much deeper venture into politics for the music mogul.
