A Chance At Holiday Cheer: Chance The Rapper's Ultimate 2020 Holiday Event

The Multi-faceted, Grammy award winning Chance The Rapper just released Chi-Town Christmas, a virtual concert film that aims to bring holiday cheer to a not-so jolly year. Chance wrote and directed the one hour special alongside Keith Walker, who took on cinematography duties.

The virtual concert has been paired with a collaborative Christmas mixtape with singer Jeremih “Merry Christmas Lil' Mama: The Gift That Keeps on Giving” a re-release of their 2016 mixtape, that features original christmas music.

The project featured visual and live vocal performances that center around the songs from the holiday mixtape.

Chance drew inspiration from some of his favorite Christmas classics, and television specials.

This project is extra special due to Jeremih’s involvement, as we all know - the R&B singer was hospitalized for over a month fighting COVID-19. At one point he was on a ventilator, struggling to breath. He was just released last week, and gave a very candid insight on his battle. Jeremih said, "I had to learn how to walk again, eat, all that stuff," due to the toll the virus took on his body.

The holiday special dropped Friday (Dec.18th) to Instagram and Youtube.

The special was also made available in virtual reality via Oculus, adding another layer of experience for the viewers to enjoy.
