CPSC Warns People To Stop Using Peloton Tread Plus Immediately: “It can Kill Children and Pets”

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission issued an “urgent warning”, telling people to stop using the Peloton Tread Plus treadmill immediately as it is a potentially fatal risk to children and pets. On Saturday the agency shared that the Tread Plus poses "serious risks to children for abrasions, fractures, and death.”
As of now, there are 39 accidents, including one death, which CPSC said they are aware of. "We are currently assessing ways to reinforce our warnings about these critical safety precautions to hopefully prevent future accidents," said Peloton CEO John Foley in a note sent to customers. Though 39 accidents and one death are enough for most of us to call it quits. Well, Peloton called the CPSC's warning "inaccurate and misleading."
"Like all motorized exercise equipment Tread+ is safe when used in accordance with our safety warnings." a company spokesperson said Saturday.
Peloton has been skyrocketing during the pandemic due to the overwhelming amount of people buying their Peloton Bike.
Will this be a major setback for Peloton?
